Recognize His Indwelling Presence
Beth shared that one morning after she awakened, she said, "Jesus, I'm in You and You're in me, and we're both in the Father through the power of the Holy Spirit."
That truth is too delightful to comprehend. A theologian once said that the greatest mystery, second only to the mystery of the Trinity, is the mystery of God's Spirit living within us-the indwelling Holy Spirit. Although we can never fully comprehend this awesome mystery, we can learn to enjoy it and delight in it.
The apostle Paul says it again and again, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me." He also stated, "God sent the Spirit of His Son into your hearts," (Galatians 4:6).
Because the Holy Spirit indwells us we have the privilege of simply lifting our decisions and all our ways to Him throughout the day. He will direct us. "In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths" (Proverbs 3:6 KJV). "In all thy ways!" I recall regretting a decision I had made, and the Holy Spirit gently reminded me that I had not acknowledged Him.
The Holy Spirit delights in guiding us. Surely most days He has more wisdom to give than we think to request. To the degree that we live with the awareness, "The Lord is near" (Philippians 4:5) and recognize His presence and rest in Him, we abide in Him.
Dear Jesus,I desire to abide in You, moment by moment trusting You for guidance and wisdom.
"We are the temple of the living God" (2 Corinthians 6:16).
