Come to the Fire Women’s Conference from 2006
History of Come to the Fire
From humble beginnings, Come to the Fire has grown into a beacon of spiritual growth and community for Christian women across the nation and around the world. This transformative conference was born out of the collective vision of nine dedicated women who gathered in Kansas City to pray and seek God's will. Their goal was to create an event that would challenge and inspire women to live holy lives through the power of the Holy Spirit. This vision has since blossomed into a powerful movement, touching the lives of thousands of women and fostering a vibrant community of faith.
The inaugural conference, held in Olathe, Kansas, was a resounding success, drawing over 1000 women from 35 states. This achievement was a testament to the power of the organization's mission and the deep desire among women for spiritual growth and community. The conference remained at this location for three years, each year building on the success of the last and expanding its reach.
As the conference grew, so did its impact. It moved to various locations, including Nashville, Tennessee, and Ft. Wayne, Indiana, each time drawing in more attendees and extending its influence. The conference's themes, such as "Behold His Glory," "Discover Your Promise," and "Reflect His Glory," resonated deeply with attendees, inspiring them to seek a deeper relationship with Christ.
One of the organization's most significant achievements was the establishment of Lydia prayer groups. These groups, which have spread across the nation and around the world, serve as a powerful testament to the organization's commitment to fostering a culture of prayer and spiritual growth.
The conference also made strides in accessibility, beginning to offer live streaming under the leadership of Pastor Mark and Sue Fuller. This innovation allowed the conference to reach an even wider audience, bringing its message of spiritual growth and community to women who could not attend in person.
Throughout its history, Come to the Fire has been hosted by esteemed institutions and churches, including Olivet University and Central Wesleyan Church. These partnerships have further expanded the conference's reach and influence, allowing it to touch even more lives.
In recent years, the conference returned to Grove City, where it was warmly received by a diverse audience representing over 40 denominations. Women from across the United States and other countries tuned in to participate, further testament to the conference's wide-reaching impact.
The most remarkable aspect of Come to the Fire's history, however, is not its growth or its reach, but the profound impact it has had on the lives of its attendees. The conference's focus on spiritual growth, community, and the power of the Holy Spirit has transformed countless hearts and lives. This is the true measure of the organization's success and the driving force behind its mission.
As we look to the future, we are excited about the potential for even greater impact. With each conference, each prayer group, and each woman whose life is touched by our mission, we are one step closer to our goal of helping every woman experience a profound love relationship with Jesus Christ. We are deeply grateful for the journey so far and look forward to the many achievements yet to come.
