His Old Temptation
Dr. Paul A. Rader, retired general of The Salvation Army, said that his father used to travel on the train with Commissioner Samuel Brengle. One time while they were riding the subway in New York, he said, "Commissioner, you've been a teacher of holiness for many, many years. Tell me, what kind of temptations do you have?"
Brengle responded, "Only one."
"Only one?"
"Only one. That is to move out of my intimate relationship with Christ. When by carelessness, indifference, failure to attend to Him and His work, I find myself drifting out of intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus, every other temptation comes in and I am vulnerable."
Dear Lord, help me to always keep my relationship with You as my most important responsibility.
“I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead” (Philippians 3:10 NLT).
