What Terrifies Satan?
Three days before I was to leave for a Come to the Fire council meeting one summer, I awakened about 2 a.m. and climbed out of bed. Suddenly I could not stand and fell across a sofa a few feet away. I struggled to walk across the room because something was wrong with my balance. I soon was back in bed. As I lay there, I kept saying these words in my mifnd: “I’m covered by the blood of Jesus.” I also trusted completely that God would enable me to do what He had planned for me to do. If I needed to go to the meeting, I would be able to go.
The next morning my physician husband determined I had labyrinthitis and said I would be better in a few days. I continued to trust Jesus to enable me to do all He has called me to do, and within an hour I was fine.
Why is the shed blood of Jesus such a protection for us? It must be because Satan is terrified of it. It was on the cross where Jesus shed His blood that Satan was defeated. To claim the protective covering of Jesus’ blood is to be covered with what Satan will not go near.
Thank You, Jesus, that there is power in the blood You shed for me.
“They overcame him [Satan] by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony” (Revelations 12:11).
