Miracle Working Power!

Missionary John Knight reports that while in Taiwan they moved across the lane from a man they later learned was the high priest of the Taoist temple on their island.

Soon after they moved into this house, they noticed strange things taking place, barely noticeable at first and quite inexplicable. His wife became very sick and had a bright red stripe going up her arm, and they learned she had blood poisoning. Their family broke out in a terrible wet rash around her neck, and one day their son came running into the house screaming with hands swollen up very large. They felt a terrible oppression all around them. 

Just as they were about to go to the hospital in Taipei, they decided to fast and pray instead. On the third morning of their fast, they began to plead the blood of Christ to cover over them and protect them from harm. 

Soon after this, they heard that the priest across the lane had boasted to someone that he was going to drive them off the island. They then began to understand why these strange things were occurring. He was using the occult to bring harm to them. They began to plead the blood of Jesus Christ to cover this man and his house. 

The effects were almost instantaneous. Within two months, they were in good health and still on the island, but the priest and his family had quite unexpectedly moved off the island!

Jesus, help me to realize the incomparably great power available to me because of the price you paid. (Ephesians 1:19)
