God Answers These Prayers
How it must please the Lord to see our hearts hunger for the exact things He has promised to give. When we bring His promises to Him and wait in expectation, He will give us what He has promised in His Word.
I find two verses from the Psalms to be very helpful in prayer. "I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation (Psalm 5:2) and "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him" (Psalm 37:7). I tell the Lord my request; as I am still before Him, I allow Him to search my motives, and I listen to Him. What is His will regarding this request? What Scriptures should I pray today? How does God want me to phrase my request? Then I wait patiently. The Holy Spirit reveals God's will to us as we bring His Word to Him and wait in faith.
You may want to make a list of Scriptures you can turn into prayers, such as the following:
Help him to be joyful always; pray continually, and to give thanks in all circumstances recognizing that this is God's will for him in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
Help him to never tire of doing what is right (2 Thessalonians 3:13).
Help him not to rely on himself but on God (2 Cor. 1:9).
Make all grace abound to him, so that in all things at all times, having all that he needs, he will abound in every good work (2 Corinthians 9:8).
I pray that out of Your glorious riches, You would strengthen them with power through Your Spirit in their inner beings, so that Christ may dwell in their hearts through faith (Ephesians 3:16).
Saturating our minds with God's word help make our prayers effective. The more we read and memorize Scripture, the more our faith will grow.
Thank You, Father, for making a way for our faith to grow.
”Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ" (Romans 10:17).
