Kathy Quit Her Job

God challenged Kathy to stop her full time job and depend upon Him for finances. She realized that if she continued working, she would be seeing what she could do. If she quit her job, He would show her what He could do.

Soon after Kathy took this step of faith and obedience, her husband lost his job. Their family of four totally depended on the Lord. They began to see God supply their needs in amazing ways. People gave them cars, and somehow money for food arrived just when needed.

One day Kathy's daughter told her, "Mom, my only pair of jeans just got ripped, and I have to have a pair for this weekend."

Kathy responded, "Well, just wait until Friday to buy some. Let's see what God will do."

On Friday morning a lady approached her daughter. "I've been carrying around this gift card for the Gap for over a year. I don't shop there. I think you should have this."

God has now allowed Kathy to go back to work with His blessing, but what lessons she and her family would have missed had she failed to give God an opportunity to show them what He could do

Dear Jesus, I desire to have only that which pleases You. I trust You to provide all that You know I need.

"Do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:31-33).
