Love Reveals His Presence
God wants to express Himself to others through our love, but usually we think He wants to reveal Himself through our wisdom. In 1 Peter 4:8, Peter wrote, "Above all, love"-perhaps because it's the surest means of doing what the Spirit would do. God is love. When in doubt what the Spirit desires, we will likely do the right thing, if we do the loving thing.
"God so loved that he....." God still does everything out of love for us. He is love and He cannot go against His nature. If others sense His presence in us, they will sense that we, too, could say, "I am doing what I am doing because I love you."
There is only one way we can do that. Jesus' life was one of total dependence upon the Father, and, as a result, He could tell the disciples, "Anyone who has seen me, has seen the Father" (Jn. 14:9). As we learn to look to Him moment by moment to express His love through us, in increasing measure others will look at us and sense that we are carriers of the holy presence of the living God.
Thank You, Jesus, that our presence as a holy person is making a difference even though we are unaware of it.
"In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:16).
