He Calls Us His Beloved

God wants our relationship with Him to be one of passionate love. He calls us His bride, as though to remind us of the freshness of the love He wants from us and that He wants to give us. "Your loving kindness never fails" means there is never a moment that God is not expressing His love to us.

Marjorie longed to know she pleased the Lord. One day God said to her, "More pleasing to me than all your prayers, sacrifices and good works is that you would believe I love you."

Could it be God wants to say to each of us, "I desire to give Myself to you as fully as a husband gives himself to his wife"? He longs for us to share a loving relationship with Him.

Dear Lord, I am humbled to know that You call me Your beloved.

"God will rejoice over you as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride" (Isaiah 62:5).

"I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband...One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, 'Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb'" (Isaiah 21:2, 9).

We "know and rely on the love God has for us" (I John 4:16).
